Gizmos

I received my new wireless flash triggers today. All the way from Hong Kong.

$29.99 worth of fun.

Although they look like every other great picture from a Nikon. These two were taken using 2 flash units at 12 ft from subjects. Triggered by my fancy new gizmos. The lense was approx. 8 ft from the nose of the dog.

In particular, notice the reflection in the eyes. (Hint: if you blow it up you can see the photographer.)

School days

I can't believe it's been a month since I published anything. Time sure gets away from you. But I've been busy. Video, photographs, editing... it never ends, and I'm glad.

I officially signed up for 2 classes at FCCJ. I met with one of the professors there and he put me into Digital Survey, which is a class on graphical design and foundations. It is taught by Dr. Troy Johnson, who is also my program advisor. I am looking forward to this class. He is a highly intelligent person who spends most of his time studying, reading, practicing...and he plays guitar to boot.

The other class is TV Production. This one ought to fill in the blanks on a lot of questions I have about production and staffing. We run a pretty smooth operation, but I am aware that we are missing several components.

Do I have what it takes? Can I meet the marks of a passing grade? I think so. I am just hard headed enough to study to show myself approved, a workman that need not be ashamed... (yes I know it's talking about the gospel, but I think it can apply to other areas of our lives, such as this one).

Books are expensive. $138 for these 2 classes. And I found them used on Amazon.com. I don't know how people afford to do this. I have it worked out for this semester, but I don't know about the next semester. The total cost for a 2 year degree at FCCJ is just under $6000.

Maybe I can pass around a virtual coffee can to folks that enjoy my work. O wait, Katrina has already given all she can. Well, no need to pass the can... my supporter has exhausted her resources. ; )

Have a great day. Learn something new. Read a verse in the book. Spend a moment in prayer for someone else. Do something for someone other than yourself.

Peace.
